The ICATS Specialist Sprayer programme at OEG Training provides learners with the knowledge and practical capability to apply protective coatings using airless spray equipment to recognised industry standards. This training covers health & safety, spray‑equipment operation, coating‑system requirements, environmental controls, defect prevention, and quality assurance. 

You will learn how to set up, operate, and maintain airless spray equipment, interpret technical specifications, mix and prepare coatings, control film thickness, and achieve uniform, specification‑compliant finishes. Practical elements include spray‑gun handling, pressure‑control techniques, overspray management, defect identification, and safe use of PPE and respiratory protection. 

The course is designed to enhance spray‑application competence, reduce industrial hazards, and meet the latest ICATS spray‑application standards recognised across the UK and international industrial‑coatings sector.

At the end of the full ICATS Specialist Sprayer programme, you will be able to confidently apply protective coatings using airless spray systems in accordance with industry specifications and ICATS standards. You will be able to identify coating requirements, prepare materials correctly, operate spray equipment safely, and achieve required film‑thickness and finish‑quality standards. 

You will demonstrate competence in spray‑equipment operation, coating preparation, defect prevention, environmental control, inspection awareness, and safe working practices, meeting the latest ICATS industrial‑coatings standards required across construction, marine, offshore, and industrial sectors.
