The GWO Slinger Signaller programme at OEG Training provides learners with the knowledge and practical capability to support safe lifting operations in wind turbine environments. This training covers lifting equipment inspection, load attachment, signalling methods, communication protocols, hazard identification, and safe coordination of lifting tasks with crane operators.

You will learn how to select appropriate lifting accessories, attach loads correctly, guide crane movements using recognised hand and radio signals, and maintain safe working distances during lifting operations. Through realistic, scenario‑based exercises, learners develop the confidence and competence to support lifting tasks safely and efficiently in both onshore and offshore wind settings.

The course is designed to enhance operational safety, reduce lifting‑related risks, and meet the latest Global Wind Organisation (GWO) standards required by employers across the global wind sector.

At the end of the GWO Slinger Signaller programme, you will be able to confidently support safe lifting operations, attach and detach loads correctly, and communicate effectively with crane operators using approved signalling methods. You will be able to identify lifting hazards, select appropriate lifting accessories, and ensure safe movement of loads during turbine installation and maintenance tasks. 

You will demonstrate the ability to inspect lifting equipment, maintain safe working distances, coordinate lifting operations, and contribute to a safe lifting environment. You will also be able to communicate clearly during lifting tasks and support a coordinated response to lifting‑related incidents, meeting the latest GWO global safety standards required by the wind industry.
