The GWO Sea Survival Refresher programme at OEG Training provides learners with the updated knowledge and practical capability to work safely in offshore environments and respond effectively to emergencies at sea. This training revisits and reinforces offshore hazards, vessel transfers, survival techniques, life‑saving appliances, helicopter rescue procedures, and safe evacuation from offshore structures.

You will refresh your ability to prepare for and manage offshore emergencies, perform safe transfers between vessels and turbines, use personal protective equipment (PPE) and personal flotation devices (PFDs), and apply survival techniques in open water. Through realistic, scenario‑based exercises, technicians strengthen their confidence and competence to respond effectively to offshore incidents, vessel emergencies, and man‑overboard situations.

The course is designed to maintain offshore safety, reinforce emergency‑response capability, and meet the latest Global Wind Organisation (GWO) standards required by employers across the global wind sector.

At the end of the full GWO Sea Survival Refresher programme, you will be able to confidently perform safe vessel transfers, respond to offshore emergencies, and apply effective survival techniques in open water. You will be able to use life‑saving appliances, manage hypothermia risks, support helicopter rescue operations, and follow structured emergency procedures during offshore incidents.

You will demonstrate refreshed competence in evacuation techniques, assisting others during marine emergencies, and maintaining personal and team safety in challenging offshore conditions. You will also be able to communicate clearly during sea‑based emergencies and contribute to a coordinated response, meeting the latest GWO global safety standards required by the wind industry.
