The GWO First Aid Refresher programme at OEG Training provides learners with the updated knowledge and practical capability to recognise, assess, and manage medical emergencies in wind turbine environments. This training revisits and reinforces primary and secondary patient assessment, CPR and AED use, bleeding control, shock management, fractures, burns, environmental injuries, and emergency communication procedures.

You will refresh your ability to conduct structured casualty assessments, manage life‑threatening conditions, and apply first aid techniques using industry‑standard equipment. Through realistic, scenario‑based exercises, technicians strengthen their confidence and competence to respond effectively to medical emergencies in remote or restricted turbine locations.

The course is designed to maintain operational safety, reinforce casualty‑care skills, and meet the latest Global Wind Organisation (GWO) standards required by employers across the global wind sector.

At the end of the full GWO First Aid Refresher programme, you will be able to confidently re‑apply first aid principles, assess casualties, and manage life‑threatening conditions in wind turbine environments. You will be able to perform CPR, operate an AED, control bleeding, stabilise casualties, and support emergency response procedures while maintaining personal and team safety. 

You will demonstrate refreshed competence in airway, breathing, circulation, trauma, shock, burns, fractures, and environmental injuries. You will also be able to communicate clearly during medical emergencies and contribute to a coordinated response, meeting the latest GWO global safety standards required by the wind industry.
