The GWO First Aid programme at OEG Training provides learners with the knowledge and practical capability to recognise, assess, and manage a wide range of medical emergencies in wind turbine environments. This training covers primary and secondary patient assessment, life‑saving interventions, CPR and AED use, bleeding control, shock management, fractures, burns, environmental injuries, and emergency communication procedures. 

You will learn how to conduct structured casualty assessments, manage life‑threatening conditions, and apply appropriate first aid techniques using industry‑standard equipment. Through realistic, scenario‑based exercises, technicians develop the confidence and competence to respond effectively to medical emergencies in remote or restricted turbine locations. 

The course is designed to enhance operational safety, improve casualty outcomes, and meet the latest Global Wind Organisation (GWO) standards required by employers across the global wind sector.

At the end of the full GWO First Aid programme, you will be able to confidently assess casualties, identify life‑threatening conditions, and provide effective first aid in wind turbine environments. You will be able to manage airway, breathing, circulation, trauma, shock, burns, fractures, medical emergencies, and environmental injuries using structured first aid principles. 

You will demonstrate the ability to perform CPR, operate an AED, control bleeding, stabilise casualties, and support emergency response procedures while maintaining personal and team safety. You will also be able to communicate clearly during medical emergencies and contribute to a coordinated response, meeting the latest GWO global safety standards required by the wind industry.
