The GWO Fire Awareness Refresher programme at OEG Training provides learners with the updated knowledge and practical capability to prevent fires, manage fire hazards, and respond effectively to fire emergencies within wind turbine environments. This training revisits and reinforces fire behaviour, ignition sources, fire spread, fire prevention measures, emergency procedures, and the safe use of firefighting equipment. 

You will refresh your ability to identify fire hazards, understand fire development, select appropriate extinguishing methods, and follow structured emergency response procedures. Through realistic, scenario‑based exercises, learners strengthen their confidence and competence to respond effectively - whether evacuating safely, assisting others, or taking initial firefighting action when appropriate. 

The course is designed to maintain operational safety, reinforce fire‑prevention awareness, and meet the latest Global Wind Organisation (GWO) standards required by employers across the global wind sector.

At the end of the GWO Fire Awareness Refresher programme, you will be able to confidently identify fire hazards, understand fire development, and take appropriate initial actions in the event of a fire. You will be able to select and use the correct firefighting equipment, support safe evacuation procedures, and follow structured emergency response protocols. 

You will demonstrate refreshed competence in fire prevention, early hazard recognition, and safe response techniques. You will also be able to communicate clearly during fire emergencies and contribute to a coordinated response, meeting the latest GWO global safety standards required by the wind industry.
