The GWO Enhanced First Aid (EFA) programme at OEG Training provides wind industry personnel with the advanced medical knowledge and practical capability required to deliver effective first aid in remote, challenging, and high‑risk turbine environments. This training expands upon the basic GWO First Aid standard and prepares learners to manage complex injuries, prolonged casualty care, and advanced life‑support interventions until professional medical help arrives.  

You will learn how to conduct comprehensive patient assessments, manage life-threatening conditions, stabilise casualties for extended periods, and apply enhanced first aid techniques using industry standard medical equipment. Through realistic, scenario based exercises, learners develop the confidence and competence to respond effectively to medical emergencies in isolated turbine locations.  

The course is designed to enhance operational safety, improve casualty outcomes, and meet the latest Global Wind Organisation (GWO) standards required by employers across the global wind sector.

At the end of the full GWO Enhanced First Aid programme, you will be able to confidently perform advanced first aid interventions in remote wind turbine environments. You will be able to conduct structured patient assessments, identify and manage life‑threatening conditions, and provide prolonged casualty care when emergency response times are extended. 

You will demonstrate the ability to manage airway, breathing, circulation, trauma, shock, burns, fractures, medical emergencies, and environmental injuries. You will also be able to maintain effective communication, document casualty information, and support coordinated emergency response procedures, meeting the latest GWO global safety standards required by the wind industry.
