The GWO Advanced Rescue Training (ART) programme at OEG Training provides wind industry personnel with the advanced knowledge and practical capability to perform safe, efficient, and compliant rescue operations across all major areas of a wind turbine. This combined training covers team‑based and single‑rescuer rescue techniques in the hub, spinner, inside blade, nacelle, tower, and basement, ensuring technicians are fully prepared for the complex rescue challenges found in modern onshore and offshore wind environments.

You will learn how to assess rescue scenarios, select safe anchor points, manage certified rescue equipment, and execute controlled casualty extractions in both confined spaces and vertical structures. Through realistic, scenario‑based exercises, technicians develop the confidence and competence to respond effectively—whether working as part of a coordinated rescue team or operating independently during lone‑worker tasks. The course is designed to enhance operational safety, reduce rescue response times, and meet the latest Global Wind Organisation (GWO) standards required by employers across the global wind sector.

At the end of the full GWO Advanced Rescue Training programme, you will be able to confidently perform advanced rescue operations across all major wind turbine areas, including the hub, spinner, inside blade, nacelle, tower, and basement.

You will be able to assess rescue scenarios, identify hazards, and select safe anchor points appropriate to both confined and vertical environments. You will demonstrate the ability to carry out team‑based and single‑rescuer extractions, manage certified rescue equipment independently, and safely lift, lower, or manoeuvre a casualty through restricted spaces, curved structures, and ladder systems

You will also be able to maintain effective communication, apply structured rescue planning, and ensure casualty care throughout the entire rescue process, meeting the latest GWO global safety standards required by the wind industry.
