The City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Working in Medium-Risk Confined Spaces programme at OEG Training provides learners with the knowledge and practical capability to work safely in medium‑risk confined spaces. This training covers hazard identification, risk assessment, atmospheric testing, safe entry and exit, communication procedures, PPE and escape‑breathing apparatus use, and emergency arrangements.  

You will learn how to prepare for entry, test and monitor atmospheres, follow safe systems of work, use equipment correctly, and maintain safe access and egress in confined environments. Practical elements include ladder access, top‑entry and horizontal‑entry techniques, communication protocols, and emergency‑response considerations. 

The course is designed to enhance operational safety, reduce confined‑space risks, and meet the latest City & Guilds 6160‑02 qualification requirements recognised across utilities, construction, engineering, and industrial sectors.

At the end of the City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Working in Medium-Risk Confined Spaces programme, you will be able to confidently enter, work, and exit medium‑risk confined spaces safely, following approved procedures and safe systems of work. You will be able to conduct atmospheric testing, use PPE and escape‑breathing apparatus, identify hazards, and respond effectively to emergencies. 

You will demonstrate competence in risk assessment, equipment use, communication procedures, atmospheric monitoring, and emergency‑response actions, meeting the latest City & Guilds confined‑space safety standards required across multiple industries.
